Clear steps. Measurable progress.
Every journey at STEPS is structured, transparent, and collaborative. From intake to discharge, families know what to expect and how progress is measured.
At STEPS, we believe families are at the heart of healing. Parents and caregivers are active partners in the care journey. We engage them throughout, combining clinical depth with everyday insight, so that children and young adults feel supported both inside and outside the clinic. Every care plan is tailored, goal-driven, and time-bound from the first conversation to discharge and beyond.
How We Work
Intake appointment (50 mins)
Your journey begins with Dr. Pramit Rastogi. This first consultation helps understand the present struggle, establish a preliminary diagnosis, clarify concerns, and set initial treatment goals.
Our intake process is modelled on leading U.S. and global mental health practices, ensuring rigour from the very start.
Symptom & severity assessment (120 mins)
A psychologist maps the client’s challenges across emotional, social, academic, or developmental areas. The most pressing concerns are prioritised to shape treatment.
(The need for this step is determined during intake.)
Plan discussion (30 mins)
The psychiatrist and psychologist align on findings. A tailored care plan is shared with the family, outlining goals and next steps.
Interventions
Therapy or psychiatric care begins. Initial sessions may include parents to provide context from home and school.
What sets us apart: psychiatrists and psychologists at STEPS align weekly on treatment goals; a rare integration that improves efficiency and outcomes.
Progress reviews
Goals are tracked closely. Check-ins with Dr. Rastogi are typically scheduled every 8 weeks, or more often if needed.
Discharge & beyond
Most clients are discharged within 6–12 months — shorter than the industry norm. Discharge is considered when presenting concerns (e.g., school refusal, intrusive thoughts) are resolved and the child or young adult can function independently. Families remain connected for check-ins on a monthly or as-needed basis.
Assessments
Depending on needs, we may recommend additional standardised evaluations for:
- Learning difficulties (Cognitive Assessments)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Anxiety or depression
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Giftedness and other profiles
