Educational Institutes

We are committed to supporting and strengthening mental health initiatives at educational institutes. Over the years we have worked closely with school authorities, teachers and counsellors in the context of school systems or families who we are working with. We offer the following services for leading schools in the country.

Workshops and talks

We offer talks, webinars, seminars and workshops for students and parents on a variety of topics. These include Substance Abuse Prevention, Managing Screen Addiction, Effective Parenting, Body Image, Stress Management among others.

Duration of interventions vary according to the topic and time available. We typically engage with the institute ahead of the intervention and partner closely to understand needs and create content in line with objectives outlined for the session.

Teacher training programs

Early identification of mental health challenges can be a game changer for children. We work closely with schools to supplement counsellor efforts, or provide stand alone training interventions to help teachers correctly identify learning and behavioural deficits that they may be observing in children.

Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) are better managed with an understanding of the underlying biology which is responsible for these difficulties. With the correct understanding of underlying needs and deficits, teachers are able to successfully manage and help students navigate these challenges with empathy and care.

Counsellor support

We offer counsellor support services which include in-depth training programs focused on commonly seen difficulties among children, e.g., ADHD, OCD, Giftedness, as well as navigating issues regarding student well-being, e.g., Substance Abuse, or Screen Time Management.

We provide group and individual supervision for counsellors, which can be arranged through institute authorities.

School safety risk assessments

Children and adolescent in distress often communicate distress by suicidal ideation (I wish I was dead). At times, this is a cry for help and at other times a symptom of severe depression, with a sense of absolute hopelessness and apathy.

School authorities often contact us if a child has made a suicidal ideation statement to the school counselor. This is typically the trigger point for a risk assessment (as they may be at imminent risk for harm to self or others).

In such situations, a complete and thorough evaluation of the child is done. Effort is made to understand areas of strength and difficulties that have led the child to experience such intense emotions. At the end of the evaluation, a recommendation is provided to the school and family regarding next steps and safety plans.

Cognitive Assessments

Cognitive assessments are a series of standard tests used to evaluate general intelligence across various domains such as, verbal comprehension, visual spatial, fluid reasoning, working memory, and processing speed, as well as a comprehensive full-scale IQ.

We offer in-premises cognitive assessments for residential and day schools.
